Programme
Walkers are informed of the walk details by email the week before. The location of a walk and contact details of the leader are also included in the Our Walks Programme page as soon as they are available. Contact any walk leader or the relevant programme Secretary for additional information.
For Tuesday ‘B’ and Saturday walks, including hill walks, intending walkers must contact the Leader beforehand to confirm attendance. This call serves as a check in case of any unavoidable last minute alterations to the programme. For Tuesday ‘A’ walks, there is no need to advise the leader of attendance. Simply turn up at the start point in good time.
Saturday Walks
The length of Saturday walks will vary, depending on the Leader.
Tuesday Walks
The ‘A’ walk is usually 8-9 miles in length, taken at a relatively brisk pace; the ‘B’ walk is usually 5 – 6 miles taken at a more leisurely pace.
Transport
For members who do not have their own transport, with the help of the leader, a lift may be able to be arranged; but we are sorry, we cannot guarantee that he or she will be able to organise this. For Saturday hill walks, car sharing is available by arrangement with the Leader or Tom Logan from Aust (Passage Road) at 0845, or as otherwise notified by the leader.
Car Mileage Contribution
Car passengers may make a contribution towards this cost (at the driver’s discretion).
Fitness
For everyone’s enjoyment, it is necessary that you are fit and well enough to complete the planned walk. If there is any doubt about your ability for a particular walk, please ask the leader’s advice beforehand.
Please remember, the leader can refuse to take any person considered inadequately equipped or clothed, or judged by the leader to be undertaking a walk beyond that person’s capability.
Children
Children are welcome on walks but must be accompanied by an adult member of the family to take entire responsibility.
