Our walks...
Bristol HF Rambling Club walks take advantage of wonderful local walking countryside within a radius of about 40 miles from Bristol, encompassing the Mendips, the Cotswolds and the Wye Valley.
Members are offered the opportunity to lead a walk, but this is not essential. Every Tuesday... ’A’ Walk of 7-9 miles Exact details of the walk are sent by email to Members one week in advance. 'B' Walk of 5-6 miles for which there is no formal car-sharing arrangements. Members phone the Walk Leader for details of the starting point and timing. Every Saturday... There is a walk of between 9-12 miles, for which there is no formal car-sharing arrangements. Details of the following week’s walk are announced on the day, or Members can phone the Walk Leader for details. of the starting point and timing. Once a month... On a Saturday (except December), there is a more challenging hill walk of 10-12 miles, usually in the Black Mountains or Brecon Beacons. Car sharing is available from Aust (Passage Road) – meet at 0845 – but Members inform the Walk Leader that they intend to take part. On a Thursday there is an 'Amble' of 2-3 miles, usually including a pub lunch Members phone the Walk Leader for exact details. Once a year... There is also usually an annual coach trip for walks further afield. |
